Good testing helps separate our teams into appropriate groups of infested vs un-infested.
Key guidelines include: Everyone aged 13–64 should be tested for HIV at least once. Sexually active women <25 and those with new/multiple partners should get annual gonorrhea/chlamydia tests. Pregnant women should be tested for syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.
- Men who have sex with men (MSM): Annual testing for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea, with higher frequency (every 3-6 months) if having multiple partners.
- Sexually active women (>25): Annual testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia if they have new or multiple partners.
- General: Anyone engaging in unprotected sex or with multiple partners should get tested annually or before new partners.
- Symptoms: Anyone experiencing symptoms (burning urination, discharge, pain) should seek immediate testing.
